I'm working in the IMS-LD package, which have requirementes about roles. That means: a dotlrn user is mapped in an IMS-LD role. This roles does support subroles and manage different permissions.
Usage of .LRN roles is not an option, because they are for different purposes.
The idea is to create one .LRN group for each IMS-LD role. This will allow subgroups and permissions management. The question is: with which group_type must be instantiated new groups?
Other packages as Evaluation creates its own group_type and then create the group instance. The problem here is that there can be a big number of IMS-LD roles, i do not consider appropiate to create such a number of group types.
Have I to create an generic "imsld_role" group? is better the creation of one group_type for each role? must i use 'group' group type?
I have started using the third option, but it's not too late to change the point of view.
