Forum OpenACS Q&A: how to install xotcl-core?

Collapse

I'm trying to install xowiki and xotcl because I wanted to do use chat. I got the xowiki and xotcl-core from cvs, but when I went to install, only xowiki showed up. When I tried to install xowiki, it said that it required xotcl-core to install. I tried searching on Q&A cause people said that the instructions are on there somewhere, but I had a hard time finding the actual installation procedure. Right now, I don't even know what xinha is....am I supposed to use it for xowiki? Thanks!!!

this may help

XinHA is a WYSIWYG editor, similar to RTE but more feature rich, you might want to get acs-templating from head as well if you need Xinha.

when you type on oacs.org type in the search field (right upper corner) xotcl-core, you get as first hit:
http://www.openacs.org/xowiki/pages/en/xotcl-core

concerning xotcl-core not showing up: are you sure that you have a complete file-set? xotcl-core was recently
"moved" from CVS head to oacs-5-2. if you installed the packages from cvs, check if you have xotcl-core/CVS/Tag, it should contain "Toacs-5-2". if you do not have it, do a
rm -rf packages/xotcl-core and check it out again with -roacs_5_2.

hope this helps
