Forum .LRN Q&A: dotLRN on PostgreSQL - 7.2 works, 7.1 too many problems...

We have been struggling to get dotLRN working with Postgres 7.1.3
for quite some time...and found many problems ( starting with add
acs_preivileges_chid problem and many others ) and could not make
much progress - Today I installed it on Postgres 7.2  and lo and
behold - it works great ! I can add departments, subjects, classes
and communities, administer communities and all. Whereas with
Postgres 7.1  I would get stuck at every step above... Many of the
problems posted on this forum with PG might have to do with the
version difference.
