Forum .LRN Q&A: Response to Request for Comment: dotLRN Technology Governance

Hi,

I haven't been much into dotLRN until now.  I haven't even used that code just saw one who is being used by my good friend Deds.  The site is to launch next week.  So guess the code is good.

I think its nice to have a governance for dotLRN and with users (teachers, MIT, etc.) a seat like Michael has pointed out.  It gives them assurance that what they invested in will not run away from their goals.

Also like Neophytos has stated he also wants some assurance that the consortium will not turn againts him and other developers.

So I guess both camps is just looking for assurance.  One looking for some form of control and the other looking for not that control to impact him/her in a negative way.  I think things are closer than seen, maybe we just need to add more provisions to Al's proposal on the assurance that a developer will not have to face some legal actions.

Of course I can't say what I have stated is correct and in context.  Just my 2 cents after Talli told me about this thread.
