as for promoting bt here are few of my thoughts on this:
- courtesy: we shouldn't be spamming other communities with our product because the default reaction will be defensive and automatically turn the discussion into a negative.
- ownership: let's not forget that open source is for a lot of people about ownership. a lot of projects aren't too open about discussing alternative projects and the default response tends to be defensive as well.
i think the whole community, and i mean all of us should talk about a few things that need to happen in order for us to more strategically promote the toolkit, and of course our own consultancies. i personally would like to see a slow, deliberate and co-ordinated effort where we track results versus a haphazzard approach where we throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. i have a few ideas but because they over-arch the whole toolkit this may not be the best thread to follow up on this.
