Forum OpenACS Development: OpenACS 4.6 Release Manager

Janine Sisk has kindly offered to be the Release Manager for OpenACS 4.6.

She's had a lot of experience managing web projects at Furfly and
before that worked for AutoDesk and some web firm whose name I forget
... anyway, she's an experienced pro.

And very organized.  We need
organized.

So all you geeks are going to have a woman for a boss!  Go, Janine! :)

She's already started to get information together based on our earlier
threads regarding 4.6 and soon she and I will start working with folks
like Roberto (todo list guy) and Dave Bauer (openacs.org website guy)
to organize our online information about the project as it goes on.

She'll maintain things like the status sheet, will help coordinate
testing with Simon Millward, work with package folks to make sure
plans are scaled to the reality of our quick release cycle, etc etc etc.

Best of all she's not afraid to kick my ass when I'm out of line.

Though this is meant to be a short release cycle, I'm hoping this
serves as a dry run for organizing the 4.7 cycle.  Not necessarily
with Janine in this role (if a big job comes down she might not have
time) but in the way we split up responsibilities between various folks.

I kinda feel like we're finally getting some adult supervision around here.

Is this good? If I swear, will I be getting a mouth full of soap?

The cleaning agent, that is. Not the web service, you freaks.

Thanks for stepping up Janine. I'll give you access to the TODO list on the dev.openacs.org site, so we can edit it collaborativelly.

Look out, Talli - have ruler, will travel!

(hmm... better explain for international readers.  It used to be common practice for a naughty student to have his/her knuckles rapped (hit) with a ruler.)

Seriously, thanks for the well wishes.  Now let's get this release underway!
