I think Roberto is right. TclSOAP works fine in AOLserver once you work around the package require problem. It supports XMLRPC and SOAP with the same API, so its very nice to export web services.
So we should focus on finding and using as much existing tcl code as we can before we look for Java solutions. At least for code that will become part of OpenACS.
If a client needs something and nsjava makes it possible to deliver on-time, use it.
