Don, two points:
  • I see you and Roberto saying "we need WebDAV in tcl or C" but I don't see anyone saying "sounds like fun, I'd love to do it." It's not a small amount of work, as you're aware.
  • I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill here with the nsjava install/config issue. Anyone who an could install OACS in its current form can install nsjava.
  • (Okay, 3 points.) Lots of projects bundle a jre with their software, including free projects. The JRE license explicitly allows this. (See this page.) It would be a LOT easier to add nsjava to the hypothetical InstallMagic package than to rewrite WebDAV et. al.
