Forum OpenACS Q&A: determining IP blocks for domain?

I have some undesirables who I'm trying to block from my site.  I was
sucessful at first blocking IP ranges but they've moved to accessing
via proxy servers.  Is there any way I can find out what IPs belong
to, say, marketscore.com so I don't have to rely on trial and error?
I'd imagine this is something dig could do, but I'm too much of a dns
newbie to understand the man page. :0

Try http://www.arin.net the American Registry for Internet Numbers. Just type in an IP address in their WHOIS search box.

Some proxies (including squid) include by default an
"X-Forwarded-For:" header containing the IP address of the client
machine using the proxy. If your "undesirables" are using a proxy
with this behaviour just use that address in your access controls.
