Forum OpenACS Q&A: Why is the last visited time bogus?

Collapse

I typically infrequently browse OpenACS.org, and use the 'New Answers' functionality quite a bit.

It gets annoying, however, when the last visit time and date are right now, or at least within thirty minutes of the last visited time.

Where is this last visited time, and how can this be fixed? Is this something the openacs.org upgrade to 4.x is going to solve?

I'm pretty sure it's from the last_visit or second_to_last_visit field in the users table, which IIRC only gets updated when a new session id is issued.

4.x preserves the majority of the sec_sessions code, but I don't know for sure if this part is the same.

Well, see, that's the problem.  As long as I visit every day or so,
it stays correct.  But if it's been a week or two, it gets reset to
just a few minutes prior to when I try, meaning there are no new
answers at all.
