Primarily this is for Janine, but if anyone else can provide further
info great!

Janine, I've had quite a few of our acceptance testers as about who
maintains what package, who they should contact with questions, which
SDM they should use and so forth.

I'm no longer sure what on the site is up to date and whats not, so
could I ask a small favour?

Could you post this information up on the Testing Bboard (or pointers
to it) to the testers can get going?

I think we need the current list of package maintainers primarily
but.... what is the situation with CVS write access?

What I want to avoid is tons of patches from people who probably
should have write access. Do all package maintainers have write access
to their respective packages?

If not, then we need to track patches very carefully lest we lose
fixes from this testing cycle.

Cheers

Simon, you should send me this stuff directly - I sometimes get behind on bboard and it's only by dumb luck that I happened to see this on the day it was posted.

I will get the package maintainers list online as quickly as possible.  The CVS question is one for Don - I don't have any authority there.

simon asked: "Do all package maintainers have write access to their respective packages?"

Not automatically. Without an current, updated list of maintainers there's no way for the gatekeepers to keep CVS write privs updated. so patches are the way to go for the time being.

If you are a package maintainer, you can email the gatekeepers for access.

disclaimer: i am not a gatekeeper, but i do admin the cvs tree from time to time.

I have been applying most patches as they show up in SDM so even if you
are not a package maintainer I would encourage you to submit patches
since they will not end up in limbo.

There are also instructions on how to submit a patch at

Thanks Jeff for the doc.  I have been looking for that doc.  Atleast now I know how I can make your life easier.  Sorry for the older patches just did not know how to do it properly.  I have asked 2x for it... and nobody seem to reply.  Thanks.
