Forum OpenACS Development: Oracle - Any resources?

Folks,

as you can all see we're getting a lot of activity on testing, plenty
of volunteers and so on...

So obviously I'm really keen to catch this while its hot and get this
into a rolling exercise.

However, we're one thing missing.

The acceptance test installations provided by Hub have proved *very*
popular (and thanks as always to hub.org for providing this).
But unfortunately they are only able to provide postgres installations.

So, I'm getting my begging bowl out!

Is there any company in this communicty who would be prepared to make
a small server with Oracle installed available as an acceptance test
server?

If people don't have to do the hard bit of install and set-up then I'm
sure we'd have plenty of folks to test the oracle versions too!

Thas all you'd have to do. I and the other volunteers wil
manage/install/update and do everything else, all we need is the space
and a bit of bandwidth.

Only volunteer this if you really can spare the space as its likely
we'll want to be using this exclusively for the forseeabel future.

Thanks in advance (and I'll buy you a pint in return ;o)

Yeah, sure, we can do it. Hope I don't need to order a new harddisk first. If I got you correctly you want to have:
  • Aolserver that is connected to Oracle
  • Oracle user for the testing
  • One Server running on a to be defined ip with to be defined port that points to the latest CVS checkout (or whatever you want to have)
  • Regular CVS updates
This way someone could test the basic installation (which works, btw., at least for the last couple of times I checked).

If you wanted to have a dedicated Server with SSH access, then I would have to decline the offer as of now (we don't have a spare one sitting idle at the moment....).
