Yes Oliver, I am currently working on the Outlook->dotLRN part of the synchronization as part of my thesis project. It will most likely involve the user uploading an iCal file which will be parsed and entered into the calendar. It could therefore be used with other iCal-based calendaring software apart from just Outlook.
