there is also an Authorize.net (www.authorize.net) interface. If you sign up through Planet Payment (www.planetpayment.com), this service can handle multiple currencies including UK pounds.
While the current payment gateway service contract is written for a single currency, it wouldn't be too much work to add multiple currency handling to it.
