Forum OpenACS Development: Announcement: Support for External Identity Providers

The tip version of OpenACS supports now external identity providers (currently Azure and GitHub, others might be added) based on the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Framework (RFC 6749).

With this implementation, it is possible to use existing OpenACS authorities (e.g., local accounts) in parallel with external identity providers. These external identity providers can be offered by default or customized login pages, potentially different per subsite.
By using Azure or GitHub logins, e.g., two-factor authentication (2FA) can be brought to OpenACS.
