I found a feature that has been in openacs since 5.1 or so, that inserts users into a category tree automatically and adds confusing information int he user-info page.

I am not sure what this is for, but it shows up automatically if you have categories installed, whether or not you are interested in categorizing your users.This happens is a category tree is mapped to the subsite you are viewing.
I removed the code that shows the categories widget on the user-info page as it was showing a categorization for every group membership without any useful info.
I couldn't find a previous discussion on this feature.
