I love the project but there's one thing that bugs me :)

The e-mail I get every week with the
Subject: Package Update

is basically useless other than letting me know that "something" was updated.

I also subscribe to a similar site at phpclasses.org and I get emails telling me at least a summary of what the patches are. There is nothing that makes me vaguely intrigued in the e-mail that comes out from here. Why don't I unsubscribe? I'm a masochist! Surely there is a 'comments' or other field that could take the place of what's currently coming out in that e-mail?

Maybe if I used an e-mail client other than pine (currently) I'd at least venture to click the links from time to time. But in reality, I'd like the e-mail to let me know what's going on.

I agree.

I think bugtracker (which we are moving towards) has better notification messages, but I'm not sure.

Would you please check how bugtracker does its notifications and submit a patch if it needs to be improved? You could also submit a patch to improve SDM's notifications and that would be swell.
