Forum OpenACS Q&A: promoting OpenACS

this probably doesn't belong here, I thought about how we can promote OpenACS.

We have registered ourselves at a portal called:
http://www.opensource.co.at/ (Austrian Chamber of Commerce)

Furthermore we are planning an article in the ct' magazine
http://www.ct-heise.de/ (don't expect before March)

We don't know whether we will be at the Exponet (http://www.exponet.at - biggest IT-fair in Austria) but if then we will also promote OpenACS.

... we are not even covering all German (Austria, Germany, Switzerland) speaking countries but it's an effort that is worthwile I think.

First of all, posting stuff like this is fine, don't worry about that!

Also ... when your article appears in print please feel free to submit a news item.  The announcement will then appear on the site's front page in the "news" box (you might want to e-mail me, dave bauer, roberto mello or jeff davis to make sure we notice and approve your news submission).

Also feel free to post a news item if you do attend Exponet.

We should probably get a "press" box up on the home page since more and more people are publishing OpenACS articles etc.

Plus -- just tell people about OpenACS when you meet them face to face.

If every person who is registered at OpenACS.org told one person every week about OpenACS then we will have spread the word to 312,000 extra people per year.
