I have my Happenings package ported to OACS at:

It is a very lightweight events package.
It doesn't do registration, or multiple dates or things like that. It was created to announce meetings,concerts etc. with little overhead.
This package was originally an ACS Oracle package but the modifications were made in PG. I tried to keep up the Oracle stuff but...
