I just visited the aolserver site and found out that AOLServer 4.0 Beta2 has been released a month ago. They say it includes i18n... Does this mean that I will be able to run 4.0 on a site with German characters without any patches? At the moment I am still using ad13...

AOLserver 4.0 beta 2 is missing a few of the AD13 i18n features - e.g. charsets.tcl procs - but Mark Page has corrected that in CVS for inclusion in 4.0 beta 3, which should be out soon.  Also, nsopenssl doesn't work with AOLserver 4.0 yet, but Scott G. is updating it.

The management of AOLserver recently switched over to a "Core Team" consisting of 3 people from AOL and 4 from the community.  An OpenACS-ready 4.0 is one of their goals.
