Forum OpenACS Q&A: Java and build.xml

Collapse
Posted by Lars Pind on
There's a build.xml file in our CVS tree at openacs-4/packages/build.xml, and there are 'java' directories in acs-content-repository, acs-kernel, acs-templating, and wp-slim.

Is this stuff used? What does it do?

The build.xml file has always confused me. It looks like it's an Ant file, but I don't know that I've ever used it for anything.

What's the story?

/Lars

The java directories in acs-templating, wp-slim and acs-kernel are scripts for JUnit, which is a browser simulator for automated black box testing (similar to tclwebtest). They do not make the impression of a finished work, rather like if someone tried out JUnit. I'd vote to remove them to avoid confusion.

Yeah, we should get rid of them.
