If you’ve noticed that openacs.org has been a bit slower recently, here’s why:
Over the past weeks, we’ve seen unusually large spikes in traffic — reaching peaks of around 3 million unique visitors per day, and currently averaging requests from about 180,000 different IP addresses daily.
Part of this surge appears to come from AI-driven crawlers and bots, but there are times when the pattern looks more like botnet-style probing or testing activity.
We’re monitoring the situation closely and making adjustments to keep the site stable and responsive.
