Forum OpenACS Q&A: After Oracle upgrad to 8.1.7.4 - VB app problem

Our DBA recently upgraded from 8.1.7.3 to 8.1.7.4.
I found a problem when using TNS via Oracle Objects to connect to the database using VB.
If the VB program is in a long directory (or in a long directory structure) or if the VB exe name is very long the database returns a bad return code.
It seems the maximum length for the program (including drive letter and directory and program name) is 53 characters.

Anybody else have this problem
Is there a fix for it or do I now HAVE to move all our VB programs to a different directory?

Thanks.
