Forum OpenACS Q&A: dbdrv: failed to load driver 'postgres'

Hi Forum Members,

I have searched through the forums for this problem but haven't find a favourable solution, i am using redhat linux-7.3, postgres version is 7.2.1-5, aolserver3.3ad13-oacs1-beta-src.tar.tgz, openacs-4.6.1.

Linux and postgres were previously installed on the so i started with installing AOL server, AOL server was properly installed, i can tell this as i can see the welcome page, now when i try to install openacs i get error as:

Request Error
Server startup failed: Error during bootstrapping
command "ns_db" is not enabled
    while executing
"ns_db pools"
    (procedure "db_bootstrap_set_db_type" line 72)
    invoked from within
"db_bootstrap_set_db_type database_problem"

On looking at error.log and going through all the forums i found that it is unable to load postgres.

For Solution of this i changed my LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to plpgsql.so but of no use, then i symlinked postgres.so file in aolserver bin directory to my plpgsql.so again of no use, then i copied plpgsql.so to aolserver bin directory and changed it's name to postgres.so but again too of no use, could anyone tell me the possible solution, i have followed all the install instructions exactly the same.

Finally accept my apology if i am repeating this question.

Waiting for an early and feasible solution.

Thanks,
Ashwani.
