One option for Mozilla based editing of content is Twingle. http://oscom.org/projects/twingle/

This is an attempt to offer a standard interface to a site content and hierarchy. It uses webdav to access a site's content.

The ns_dav project was started to offer WebDAV access to AOLserver. http://www.museatech.net/nsdav

It is just a start. A goal would be an ns_dav interface to the content repository, so that the CR files could be accessed from a WebDAV filesystem.
