Forum OpenACS Development: Subversion integration

Lately Matthew and I have been doing a lot of subversion integration with OpenACS as we base all our clients from subversion. The result of our journey (primarily Matthews) can be found at http://cognovis.de/developer/en/subversion_cvs_integration (and the other pages about subversion).

I am not sure about the status of https://openacs.org/xowiki/svn and if anyone else has worked on this lately. But I would like to see us releasing 5.4 from subversion meaning also that the branch should be created in subversion.

Where is the current checkout of the trial located, so others can continue on it? After all we should be able to change the history files directly in cvs, as we wont have the resources to pledge a single person full time for a day or two just to fix our repositories history. So we should incrementally work on this and then retain the fixed files until we can switch over completely.

Oh yes, as always the ultimate question: If it is so much trouble doing the conversion and if we do not have enough resources for fixing all bugs in the history files, wouldn't it make sense to start fresh with the branch 5.4 in subversion (along with a new HEAD there) and let the CVS stay as a reference point?
