I should say that IMHO RedHat's move is a good one although I don't like the way they are doing this, i.e. not providing an upgrade path.  This is an indication that Linux | OpenSource is going mainstream. CIOs and CTOs want predictability and that's what the Enterprise versions of RedHat promise. Paying $350 - $1,500 annually is not a bad deal if overall it lowers administrative costs.
