I have my openACS mostly working (still no abstract URLs though) but
the survey (simple) doesn't appear to be working. When I visit the
/admin/survsimp/ I don't get any options. Viewing the html source
shows an empty <ul> </ul>. (I do get the correct heading and page
footer.)

The same sort of thing is shown at /survsimp/ and /survsimp/admin/
tells me my account doesn't have permission to access this page.

Is this module broken at this time? I wanted to check first
if anyone is using it successfully before I report a bug.

You have to add yourself to the Simple Survey System staff in the administration groups. After that, you'll be able to go to survsimp/admin create a new survey.

Ok, that was easy enough. Sorry if that was an RTFM, but I don't recall seeing that before. Looks like I need to spend more time just poking around in the system.

Don't feel bad at all, things like this are why the ACS (Classic as well as OpenACS) admin UI sucks.  There's no real consistency from module to module, and you should never get a blank page such as you did.  There should always be a short explanation as to why you got a blank page, and on how to make it non-blank...
