Forum OpenACS Development: Project/Open Core V0.3

Hi,

V0.3 is out with the main chunk of project, customers and user functionality ported to OpenACS 5.0. The APM package is available at http://www.project-open.com/intranet-0.3d.apm

This version does not include as many OpenACS adaptions as the previously posted "po-core" module, because it would not have been impossible due to time restrictions. Also, we are only supporting Oracle 8i right now.

The work on the other P/O modules is progressing well (filestorage, P/O forums, simple timesheet, translation management, translation provider management and translation quality), so that we hope to be able to finish the entire system in 2-3 weeks.

In terms of license: P/O core and simple timesheet are going to be GPL. Filestorage, P/O forums and translation management are going to be "Partner License" (the license text still needs to be written) and the specific translation modules (provider management and quality) are going to be "proprietary" software. I don't think anybody is interested in this specific stuff, right?

The current version has been written on a single shared server, but we would like to get the code under CVS control. What do we have to do to get an account on the OpenACS CVS server? What are there restrictions? How are your experiences with the Sourceforge CVS?

Bests,
Frank
