I just downloaded the new OACS core tarball and couldn't untar it...

# tar xzf openacs-5.1.0.tar.gz
tar: Skipping to next header

gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--format violated
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

##########

I then tried to connect to cvs.openacs.org... looks like it is not online!

Openacs.org suffered a hardware failure and has been moved to a new (and faster) server ... it will take awhile to restore all services, so please be patient.

I downloaded all versions of oacs from the download section and they all fail to untar... does anybody have a working tarball that he can send me?

I just downloaded and untarred openacs-5.1.0.tar.gz without error.  Are you using the same environment that you used previously to untar?  Could the file get corrupted as you download it?  The MD5 for the tarball I got is c749a4d57d39cb4f1f4529be1922cbb6.  You can get this via "md5sum openacs-5.1.0.tar.gz".

my checksum was different... but I just downloaded the file again and now it works. Must have been the new server 😊
