1: BCMS or ETP?

I already used ETP in several sites and I'm just starting to play with bcms and bcms-ui-base, wich look very cool and interesting.
  • Should it be possible to give bcms control over a site created with ETP?
  • Is there or will it be an OpenACS recommended way to deal with the CR?
As a side note I noticed that (from OpenACS 5.0 ?) ETP shows not only the cr_items belonging to the item Pages (-100) but also other cr_items (file-storage, news, ...) wich are displayed without any title. This is very dangerous because one can inadvertently delete entire sections of the site!

Yes its possible for bcms-ui-base to control ETP items.  You may want to ask Deds for his bcms-ui-base copy.  Although the one in head should be ok, but Deds copy has more specific things to handle this.

Some bcms tcl api is now being moved to CR by Dave.  I believe the recommened way will be to use the cr tcl api.

The reasoning behind using this rather than "fixing" ETP is that it was much less work to build a new user interface than to reconcile the ETP features with the built in behavior of the content repository.

A future project to import ETP templates into the CR maybe be possible.
