I'm just getting back to working with ACS again (first time with OpenACS). I'm not a Linux server admin in the least but have heard that the Bastille Linux scripts at
bastille linux do an impressive jobs of turning off all of the useless/redundant stuff that is automatically enabled in RH/Mandrake installs. Supposedly, it also teaches you a lot about what all the services are actually for as well. Haven't used it myself though...
