• Samher Abukhait asked about optimization for his two big servers, as he's having
>issues at about simultaneous 250 users. He was advised to check his Oracle parameters, investigate clustering, check things like ulimit, and bump up minthreads, maxthreads, and maxconnections (all of which were set to 10).

• Frank Bergmann expressed his thanks for the
great tree_sortkey docs and asked why the same code isn't used for Oracle?
• Sean Redmond wants to turn a
person into a user . His reading suggests this isn't possible?
• Miguel Marin is having difficulties
upgrading from 4.6.3 to 5.0 on Oracle . ORA-04063: package body "OPENACS5.ACS" has errors. He also reports missing upgrade files for Oracle where the similar files exist for PostgreSQL, and requests help generating the oracle versions.
• Rebeca Sabrina Sosa R. asks "I am working with the
form to mail package and I wanted to know if the check box into my form is some way that the user can choose some or all of those options." (Clarification requested.)
• Patrick Giagnocavo reports
problems with getting 5.1 packages from the repository in the last couple days.
• Viola Shvartsburd is getting a
validation error on a hidden element (ip_address).
• Malte Sussdorff is having issues with
ns_pam on RHES 3 . He'd appreciate some help.
• Matthew Soldo asks about a
rapid prototyping tool for OpenACS 5.

Jade Rubick wants to clean up how we deal with package maintainers .

The discussion about (non) ease of customization of OpenACS look & feel continued. Nima pointed out the Polyxena site for skins, Matthew Geddert and Jarkko suggested a move towards xhtml and css. Matthew also suggested some site-wide standard classes that all packages could use, making customization a matter of changing just a few files.
