Forum .LRN Q&A: Ilias and SCORM certification

I was wondering how far LORS complies with the Standard Certification Levels as described at http://www.adlnet.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=CertLeve.

We are competing in the German market heavily with Ilias (http://www.ilias.uni-koeln.de/ios/index.html) and it is useful to know how far we comply with SCORM (Ilias has the Level3 certification).

What I found interesting as well when looking at Ilias:

- Roadmap published in a coherent fashion: http://www.homer.ilias.uni-koeln.de/docu/content/lm_presentation.php?ref_id=35&obj_id=126

- Integration with OpenOffice for the creation of Learning Materials (http://www.boldt-software.de/ ILEX, documentation at http://www.boldt-software.de/produkte/ilex/iLEX-10-user-manual.pdf)

- Number of installations: http://www.ilias.uni-koeln.de/ios/info.html

The roadmap is great and we need to have the equivalent on the .LRN website.

Malte,
Just to give you a brief reply.

We've been assembling, as part of our company's effort to match market's requests, an implementation of SCORM RTE which sits on top of LORS.
It requires some slight modification to LORS original code, but for the rest it is is implemented as a LORSm delivery method.
Major effort so far has been put in debugging browsers' java/javascript incompatibilities, and in extending lors data model to accomodate RTE requirements.

It is still work in progress, but if you are interested in testing/help please let us know.
