Another thing...

We're looking for volunteers to help and eventually take over a few parts of the site. They vary in complexity from easy to maybe a bit tricky, but they are all pretty straightforward. To wit:

a) We need someone to help build the Documentation part of the site
b) Help build the software download part of the site
c) Help implement sitewide search.

We are committed to bringing the site to launch through bugfixing and bboard migration, but we need help in these areas.

All volunteers welcome and appreciated. Needless to say, you will receive recognition, valuable experience and a whole lot of love from the community!

All interested parties please contact me at talli@museatech.net

I hate it when sites change the <A> colors, because then I have to "learn" that particular site's interface rather than using the one I already know for 100s of other sites.  I can understand sometimes, like you are putting text over a blue background.  (But does it HAVE to be blue?)  What I can't understand is when people change them to be the same as normal text until you mouseover.  Users don't want to wave their mouse over the screen to see what's clickable.  Please put some more thought into this.

Jonathon, I'm dreadfully sorry we made that mistake, but do you mind posting it in the feedback forums on http://openacs.museatech.net? That's where we would like to collect all the comments. Thanks.

Is there a plan to transfer any of the user info to the new site? Or should I just create a new user there and post this question to the new feedback forum?

The forums are test forums and content here will be migrated over, at least that's the great cross-your-fingers hope.  I don't know if Musea plans to merge with any real content that may end up over there, it's probably best to continue posting real threads here.

Talli - I am (as you know) willing to help out somewhat with things though my time's probably better spent flailing away at OpenACS 4.  In particular I'm willing to help out with toolkit bugs you run across (like the bboard bugs you've found), though it will be a couple of more days before I'll be looking at those.

(if anyone wants to beat me to it and fix them PLEASE DO SO!)

Well, I went to the new site and a bug sat there, right at the second line:

(visible in Netscape, replaces the dog 😊)
