We need documentation for beginning level programmers/advanced graphic artists on how to change the look and feel of OpenACS.
I think this should include:
• A detailed walk through of blank, default and site masters.
• What variables are available
• Advice on when you should modify which master
• A detailed walk through of the CSS files used in OpenACS
• A discussion of dotLRN-master
• Links to the acs-templating documentation
• Links to examples of OpenACS sites with different looks.
I think it should be done as a page in the Wiki Book. Probably a set of pages linked from this page.

Dave and I talked about doing it but if it goes on our ToDo list it isn’t going to be done any time soon. Does anyone who has taught a class on OpenACS have material that covers this area? Is there a volunteer who would like to take on this task who has successfully modified the look of an OpenACS site? Dave and I will help and advise as needed.
This project is not only valuable to the OpenACS community, the “client” driving this request is a developer who is working for some very worthy nonprofit organizations helping inner city youth. If he can learn, and teach others to easily brand OpenACS they can provide extensive functionality at a very reasonable cost.
Thanks
Caroline
