Do you guys have any intention of upgrading to 5.2 or (when it comes out) 5.3?

It would be ironic if the result of talking about possibly dropping Oracle support a year from now were to be that Oracle users start supporting it, given that we've been begging Oracle users to do so for two years now.

We have only one recent Oracle site and it is still in fairly early stages of development, with most of the effort going into custom packges, but the dev site currently has the following installed in addition to the core. I don't know how many of them we will actually end up using. I'm not listing version numbers because so far we have upgraded to each new release.

At UNED, we are using dotLRN 2.1.3 (on oacs 5.1.5) and will upgrade to dotLRN 2.2.0 (on oacs 5.2.3) very soon. We contributed by testing and debugging dotLRN on oracle for those 2 releases and will probably do for the next one. We'll provide a oracle (9i) server for next bug stomp that can be used after that for testing purpose.

UNED's help with the 2.2.0 release effort was extremely useful, and greatly appreciated.

Quest is looking into providing us a 10g server, sounds like we might have developer-accessible servers with both 10g and 9i on them in the near future. This would be a nice first step towards providing needed resources for continued Oracle support.
