Simple, clear, neat, effective.

Kudos to the maintainers.

The new theme implements a responsive design based on visual clues from the old website. Most of the work was performed by Monika Andergassen with some help of mine to overcome some hurdles. The biggest advantage is the improved support for mobile devices.

The prototype uses bootstrap 3 and an extended tabbed subsite theme (extending OpenACS Default Tabbed). The theming does not require any local modifications for the service and application packages. The theming support includes in essence list widgets (with pagination and list filters), forms (e.g. the login-form) and dimensionals. There are different variants of the theme for the main subsite and e.g. the dotlrn subsite. xowiki uses now ckeditor4, which is usable also on mobile devices.

We plan to add the theming package to the repository (after some cleanup from edit-this-page), but that will happen after the release of OpenACS 5.9.0
