Forum OpenACS Q&A: Is there an event registration package?

I could have sworn there was one, but I've looked in CVS and I can't find it. This is for doing registration for conferences and such. Needs to work without dotLRN. Does this exist?

Looks like it's under contrib/packages

http://cvs.openacs.org/cvs/openacs-4/contrib/packages/events/

Its running on dotlrn.org which is openacs 5.1.3 i think so it should be fine.

If you need something complicated with features like automated wait-lists, applications, prerequisites with a work flow for making exceptions, member discounts, one person buying for multiple other people (think a parent buying courses for multiple children), and more, then take a look at dotlrn-eccomerce.

Feature list and screen shots: http://www.solutiongrove.com/products/registration

If you are looking for simple, stick with events.

We have considerably worked on events to make it easier to use, you might want to take a look at the code we have. Did not clean it up though => no commit.

Thanks, Malte, I'd love to see it. If we use it, I'll clean it up and commit it.

That looks really good, Caroline, but I need something that works without dotLRN. Simple will do me for now. But this could certainly come in handy in the future.

I couldn't quite tell from your site - is this available for download?
