I'd go with 7.2.2, which was just released, and wait for 4.6.  There have been a steady stream of updates to the e-commerce package recently and you might as well take advantage of them if you can.  You might e-mail the package maintainer, Bart Teeuwisse, directly for information (visit https://openacs.org/directory to find his e-mail address).
