Igor, your argument is a bit of a red herring. Plenty of people have been developing production sites on oacs4.5 for the past year, including MIT which built dotLRN on it, the former aD/RH people who used a pre-alpha OACS to build the Sharenet for Siemens and many other smaller yet stable projects.
What you're arguing about is a marketing issue, not a technical one. aD released a buggy, bloated system and called it production ready. The community has been cleaning it up, albeit for a long time, and has waited until it was in proper shape before releasing it.
There's really no reason to worry this much.
