Forum OpenACS Q&A: Small footprint starting point for XOWiki?

Is there a smaller footprint way to start learning XOWiki (specifically, the api-browser) or is downloading the full OpenACS system the only way to work with it? I saw this reference in the todo list for OpenACS 5.9.1: Improved XOTcl 2.0 and NX support (e.g. api-browser)
but the next-scripting site has an XOWiki folder
https://next-scripting.org/xowiki/
but nothing in the NSF download for XOWiki. I also see this package in a list of Androwish packages
nx::doc::xowiki
but I can't find any other references to it anywhere else. What is the best starting point for XOWiki development?
Thanks in advance,
Carl

The best we have for now is https://openacs.org/xowiki/xowiki (see e.g. the tutorial). The package got many more features over the last years, but the good old documentation is still ok.

next-scripting site has an XOWiki folder
This simply means that the site was built based on xowiki.
