Forum OpenACS Development: are there any Debian Developers here?

I've tried contacting the Debian QA team, current maintainers of the now orphaned tDOM package, to see what's involved in getting my updated 0.8.2 packages into the debian archives (and from there into Ubuntu) but haven't had any response. As I understand it, anybody who's currently a Debian Developer (ie has an @debian.org email address) can NMU the updated package, but the odds of me independantly getting approval to upload in time for the next Ubuntu package freeze are looking slim. If anybody here is, or knows, a Debian Developer it'd help us all if you're able to act as sponsor for these uploads to get as much as possible of the required infrastructure into these distributions.

little help? anybody?

Hi Russel,

An easy way to upload a package to debian is upload it to http://mentors.debian.net, you don't need to be a debian developer to do it. If your package is good, someone could sponsor you.

Good luck.

Gah... either I need a holiday, or that's not linked anywhere in or around the new maintainers guide... never mind me...

Russell,

You might want to consider getting in touch with the debian tcltk maintainer team which is somehwat headed by Sergei Golovan and Francesco P. Lovergine. They accepted to sponsor my xotcl distribution, once I get it ready. the idea of the tcltk maintainer team is to oversee all tcltk-related packaging efforts.

Just post to the following list: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-tcltk-devel

There is also a specific tcltk maintainer policy: http://pkg-tcltk.alioth.debian.org/tcltk-policy.html/

cheers
