Forum .LRN Q&A: Change Admin Page Layout

This has been bugging me for some time now and I'm ready to give up!

How do I change the layout of a community or class admin page from the default two column to a simple one column? We have a custom template and the 2 column layout doesn't fit into the space. I've tried changing the parameter for the class "admin_layout_name" to #new-portal.simple_1column_layout_name# and that didn't seem to change anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Hi, i think is a better idea to have a more simplified panel control, with the most common options used, and an advanced panel control (like we have now, maybe in one column). The problem in using a only colum template consists in the administration of the last applets added (for example, assesments package) because the admin has to use scrolls intensivelly in order to get the links. Maybe a more simple panel control allows to professors to be more efective

regards,

We have talked today on irc meeting about redesigning control panel, to make individual admin pages (one portlet per page).

I don't know if that makes sense for you, about your question.
