Forum OpenACS Q&A: Acessibility & Usability

Hi all,

I am working on an academic thesis on my University and i want to aim OACS and .LRN to apply the concepts and theory, implement and contribute in the field.

I would like to know what has been done, and most important, what has not been done on those areas: Accessibility and Usability on OpenACS and .LRN environments.

If someone has already walked through those paths, please raise your hand, because I would like to talk to you.

cheers,

Hi Iuri,

A lot has been done in OpenACS and .LRN regarding accessibility, which implied improvements in usability too.

There's documentation at the wiki under the category "Accessibility":

- https://openacs.org/xowiki/dotlrn-zen-standards
- https://openacs.org/xowiki/ajax-accessibility
- https://openacs.org/xowiki/wcag_checkpoints

and a list of the improvements in .LRN 2.4 can be found at:

- https://openacs.org/xowiki/%2eLRN_2%2e4_Release_Notes

A tutorial is also scheduled for the conference in Valencia (see the program: http://aulavirtual.uv.es/ficheros/view/agendax18x19.htm)
