I'm not sure if a package out there already does this:

1. Writers can create HTML Articles, images can be Flash or JPG/PNG/GIF

2. Editors can create Issues, composed by selecting Articles

3. Editors can see each article's publication history (e.g. when and in what newsletter an article was published)

4. Users can subscribe/unsubscribe to newsletters

5. Admins can subscribe/unsubscribe users to newsletters

6. Newsletters are sent as HTML emails

7. There's a log of what newsletter has been sent to whom

If this does not yet exist - is there anyone working on something similar?

I have to deliver this for 2 client projects, so I might as well invest in the effort to do it right and in a reusable manner. Any pointers on which package to use as building blocks?

Hi,

Take a look at mailing list manager it does most of what you need but the Admin UI needs a bit of cleanup, its confusing to use. I put some screenshots here.
