Hi all,

do we have a package that allows a user to:

- define ledgers
- define subledgers
- define expense types
- define income types
- view the balance sheet
- view the cash flow
- deal with different currencies
- create some kind of report
...

Greetings,
Nima

Hi Nima,

There is an effort underway to develop a flexible group of packages that do this. The work in progress will be more visible when the "a page per package"[1] wiki is working.

See above thread for details about progress with the xowiki package-per-page.

A map of the packages in context with other OpenACS packages:

Accounting seems to be a hot issue. This is a positive twist, as it's a major shift from releasing modules in favor of overall userability. A number of the functions Nima mentioned are there, but there seem to be major bottelnecks preventing smooth installation. This might call for a new approach to the release process.

Crossposting about contacts package. I feel the wiki per page issue is just a side issue as that touches documentation. The current OACS release presents all available accounting packages, but they can't be installed because of missing integration with contacts module as dicussed in other posts. Seems like a catch 22 caused by time constraints. Any ideas how to move forward?

Maybe a clear breakdown of outstanding issues may help.

Just a newbie thought.
