In addition to storing files in folders, I had the request to add categories to files and folders, so you could browse them by category. This is somewhat similar to XoWIKI and categories vs. book view. Therefore a couple of questions:
Did anyone add categorization to file storage?
I remember that CoP (Communities of Practice in contrib) has some tools for rating, commenting and categorizing objects in general. Is anyone using this? Would this be an option for file storage?
Where would you add the categorization of files to? On the upload page (probably), but where would you display the categories? On the properties page of the file? Would you add there the ability to add / remove categories?
