Hi,
I am really proud to announce that, finally, OpenACS and dotLRN packages have been accepted into Debian Unstable, and are available to download from Debian repository using apt-get:
* http://packages.qa.debian.org/o/openacs.html
* http://packages.qa.debian.org/d/dotlrn.html
Versions packaged are:
* OpenACS 5.5.1
* dotLRN 2.5.0
Most relevant new features on this packages:
* New init system, using the one provided by the aolserver package.
* Basic config settings (IP, address, etc...) are stored now in a shell snippet, on /etc/aolserver4/conf.d/{dotlrn|openacs}.sh
* Enable|disable instance options are now managed in the previously mentioned script.
Debian Unstable users can safely remove the old community repository from /etc/apt/sources.list, and use the official Debian one instead. The updates will be done only on the Debian repository from now on.
Debian Testing users can wait for about a week (hopefully) to see the packages into testing repository.
Debian Stable (Lenny) users should use the old repository for now, until the new Debian Stable version (Squeeze) is released.
I'd like to thank all OCT, and specially to Stefan, for his support, and Frankie from Debian to make all this possible.
Please check the updated wiki page (https://openacs.org/xowiki/debian) for details.
Cheers, Héctor
